On this site, I will be including interesting details of our gigs, events and other happenings. On Friday, Nov. 3, 2006
I had the good fortune to be playing (harmonica) with the Wanamaker Lewis Band at the Hi-Ho Taven in Newport, Delaware, when
Magic Slim of Magic Slim & the Teardrops came by and sat in with us! Wow! What an amazing blues singer and guitarist! The
next afternoon and night, there was a Diamond State Blues Society concert at Gator's in New Castle, Delaware, at which Magic
Slim & the Teardrops were headlining. Preceding him was Bobby Parker and his band, and opening up the show was Howlin' Blue.
They all put on an amazing show! I was invited to sit in with Magic Slim & the Teardrops and did one song with them, after
which Bobby Parker joined us on stage for a few more songs! Talk about a thrill! Wow! For some neat photos of this event,

A little about me - Listening to a Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee record in 1965 caused me to fall in love with the
blues, blues harmonica, and Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. It also inspired me to want to learn to play the harmonica.
I have been playing the harmonica since 1965 and am self-taught, except for two private harmonica lessons I had with Sonny
Terry about 1978 & 1979. I played with Ronnie Earl in his first band in 1975-1976 and sat in with Muddy Waters and Koko Taylor
about the same time. I have also performed with Magic Slim & the Teardrops, Bobby Parker, John Mooney, Roomful of Blues,
John Brim, Dave "Honeyboy" Edwards, and Eddie King. Among my many harmonica inspirations are Little Walter, Sonny Terry,
Sonny Boy Williamson I & II, James Cotton, Junior Wells, Big Walter Horton, Papa Lightfoot, Snooky Pryor, Magic Dick, Kim
Wilson, Stevie Wonder, Jerry Portnoy, William Clarke, Rick Estrin, Gary Primich, Rod Piazza, Carey Bell, Charlie Musselwhite,
Annie Raines, Billy Branch, Lee Oskar, DeFord Bailey, Lazy Lester, Slim Harpo, Sugar Ray Norcia, Pierre Beauregard, Toots
Thielemans, Danny Russo, and Steve Guyger. There are dozens of others. I am always learning from other players' recordings
and performances. My passion for playing the blues is undiminished and the pleasure I derive from listening and playing and
teaching is immeasureable! As with many things, it just keeps getting better!
